I will probably regret this but I am now in the process of re-installing X-Plane on my new PC.
I have a new "games computer" similar to Jeff's which runs FSX (with the sliders maxed out) at over 20FPS and makes it a real joy to fly.
I have used X-Plane before but didn't spend much time on it. I believe there are some great addons which should enhance the graphics, particularly around airports.
At the current price of around $29 I think it is a great buy, even if you are gust going to try something different.
I like the X-Plane interface which helps set up your controls, much better than the Microsoft product.
I am going to give it another try.

Thanks Sergio, there are some great downloads there. I have just about loaded everything available, now I have to work out how to install them. I also have a 737 I downloaded some time ago from http://www.eadt.eu. There are AAV textures and an FMC available for this aircraft.
Now, if any of our aspiring X-Plane users are programmers perhaps you could have a look at this site: http://www.xacars.net/XAcars/XAcars.html and see how hard it would be to add the XACARS flight reporting program to our website.
