Airbus 319-321 performance question

Is there a program or anything out there I can use to help calculate Airbus takeoffs? A program besides topcat That can be fairly accurate ? I use aerosoft and many times it says to do a full toga takeoff even on long runways like 08R in Miami and I’m sure you could flex at times.

I don't know of a program but I also have the Aerosoft A320 and noticed that on Flex it is very slow to obtain Vr. It seems like it is under powered. I've always wondered if that was a characteristic of the Airbus or if it was just a problem with the model.

Anyway, I can normally takeoff using Flex power on long runways (however it utilizes the entire runway almost).

Get your calculator :)

You'll need to go a few pages into the performance manual but you will get to Takeoff calculations. They do give examples of how to use the charts but it takes practice. There is probably an app or program that is avail too that will figure these values for you ... will see if I can find anything. Anyway, these performance charts will provide you with the FLEX data you want :)

Greg is correct!! But somtimes if you depart short runways and or Icy conditions, performance will lead you to use flap 3 and toga t/o. Flex is depending on temperature amd lengh of runway. Normal typical NY Departure at 75* F. Will give you a 67* flex. Its depends on temp and runway. Cheers
