Good News for GFI Pilots.

Post by Greg Gemelli »

Hey Everyone..

Well here is a little update to our policy in regard to logging hours for the GFI's.

In the case of a Group Flight where a specific aircraft is called for (Example: The DC3 World Tour GFI) any pilot, regardless of rank may fly and log hours in the assigned aircraft. This has been introduced to make it attractive to our pilots to join in on the GFI's and to make events like these more popular among our ranks.

NOTE: This only applies when a SPECIFIC aircraft is assigned.

Example of this is on a Flight Plan you will see:

Aircraft Type: DC3
Aircraft Type: Piper Cub

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now most of our GFI's are of a more general nature so this is not going to effect the majority of flights.

Most of our GFI's list on the Flight Plan:

Aircraft Type: Any

NOTE: Most of our GFI's are as easily flown in a ERJ140 as in a 777 so I am sure you can see why this new policy would only need apply to "Special GFI's".

Here you would need to fly a aircraft you are rated to fly if you want to log the hours.

Thanks to all the management for making this desicion.

Cheers!

Does this mean I can submit my legs for credit. As you know I am a lowly (Career) copilot. :)

PS: We are flying specific assigned aircraft on each leg of the race.

Not unless that's an official AAV GFI posted on our calendar Chuck. :)
