This aircraft is not listed on our inventory for the ERJ/CRJ category, as it was more than likely developed after our VA was started. It would be a member of the ERJ family of friends, and I would say 2nd officer would be qualified to fly it here.

The first officer starts with the 737/MD80 and includes all the regional ERJ's/CRJ's.

And like most items you want for your flight sim, the google bar works wonders. I googled both and these results came up;

This is the Feel There link for the regional jets, new livery;

From my perspective this the Embraer 175 is second officer equipment. Even though the E175 is closer to a 737 than an RJ, American flies it under the American Eagle brand, technically operated by Republic Airlines. In the real world ERJ, CRJ, and Embraer pilots would not be AA employees.

Just my thoughts, but I'm not one of the deciders. :)

I'm sorry if my below question is repeated somewhere else. I read this post but I was still left wondering if they are OK to fly. I would assume this is a second officer aircraft, but since it's not available to select for a bid, is it ok to use for a FREQ.
It's a pretty common use regional aircraft for American Eagle today in the real world. As a matter of fact it's about all that flys in and out of St. Louis nowadays other than the occasional A319 and B738. With the MD-80 going the way of the do-do the E175 has taken the connector from KSTL to KORD. For future FREQ's I just want to find out how to file for this aircraft. Is charter the way to go?

When in doubt, ask your hub manager. Then they will be in alignment with you when your FREQ/FREP come in and they maybe have not read this thread.

It's also good to check the pilots handbook. Section 4.1 includes rank requirements for the ERJ-175.

If your question is "how do I put this in my FREP when there is no EFJ-175 in the aircraft drop-down", you would specify "Other Aircraft" which is the first option in the second half of the drop-down under "One World and Code Share Fleet".

Thanks for the reply Mike. I'll reach out to Wayne, and definitely review the handbook again, I must have missed the section with the ERJ.
