December theme flight
I decided to use an old sleigh for this flight and a different airline. NorthWest as it looked more festive than the AOA colors.
This flight gave me 8.5 hours added to my total score.
I was flying at FL240 and got up to M 6.2 - 270kts ground speed. This flight was on VATSIM except for one hour for R & R. My butt was getting tired. The aircraft is an A2A B377 "flown" in LMP3Dv3.4 . REX weather graphics. OPUS weather engine. FSCOMMANDER 9.7 as the navigator. Heidi was the "stew".
After push back from the gate and starting the taxi.
Continuing the taxi.
Take off, on time, on target.
Wheels up.
Enroute showing the computer config for flight. Right side navigation officer (me), left side communications officer (also me).
At altitude view from the ground with good binoculars.
The engines performed very well.
Land is on the right side of the world here.
Entering Floridic airspace.
And finally a landing at KMCO.
Thanks and get flying.

Great set of photos. How did you get your VAS to remain below CRITICAL for that long a period of time?

Wayne,
No wonder this flight took you 5 hours. I didn't realize you flew it in the 377. I was thinking of the DC-3, 707, or a C-130.

Re: December theme flight
KBGR Bangor Maine is a dual use airport facility. An old Air force base, and now a Air National Guard Air/ Reserve Base with a commercial side to it. The scenery for it shows the military aircraft.Michael Blakely wrote:Wayne, What's with the B-52 in the 3rd picture?
It was also designated by NASA as an emergency landing location for the Space Shuttle. Most of the airforce left in the 1960's .

Anyway that was a great video clip. A2A appears to do a very nice job with marketing. I'm tempted, but I haven't mastered all the functions of the B-17 yet.

Re: December theme flight
The A2A Lockheed Connie L049 came out so I just had to try it out. I planned to fly this theme flight with this bird tomorrow as I needed more than just one quick lap around the field and one landing's experience. Still I decided to load up the flight plan cause I needed to figure out the autopilot. So, I started out from Bangor on what I thought was going to be a test/training flight. I did manage to pitch together a crew (with Heidi) and 44 thrill seekers for pax.
Well, one hour into the route I pretty much had the a/p figured out (and we still had a good supply of barf bags) and the test/training flight became a "real" flight to Orlando.
The flight took 4hrs 56 mins cruising at FL200 with approx. 240 kts ground speed. Most of the crew and thrill seekers were able to deplane without assistance.

Re: December theme flight
You guys peaked my curiosity so thought I'd try "old school" as well. Didn't get any take shots because this was the second time flying this vintage a/c so I was very busy keeping this think flying as well as talking to ATC.

Re: December theme flight
Hey guys, gettin' in under the clock for this flight ehh. GOOD on you.
Nice flight Harold. I picked up the L049 myself and have been playing around with it. It is much more nimble than the B377. More automatic. The new Stew's name for this plane is Betty.
Ted you still need to get your RETRO license to fly the Ole birds. Especially when the MD80 goes on the chopping block.
The rest of you have one more day to do this flight.
WLP.
