You may have inadvertantly set your folder options or deleted them possibly. Oen up your folder options setting on your computer and see how the files are set to open, with a click, or double click. This is a good guess here now.
Open up a folder in windowed mode, click on organize in upper left corner of menu bar and click on folder and search options. the menu will have an area to change on how you view the folders. Check the single click item. That should take care of it. Hopefully
