On Flightsim World: It's a 64-bit FSX. The folder structure is very similar. The keyboard shortcuts are also very similar if not identical. ORBX Global out of the box is nice but it's obvious that the early access version is missing a lot of the base textures for airports. The runway and taxiway textures are way too bright. My Saitek yoke, throttle and pedals were immediately recognized, but there is no support yet for the panels. FRAPS detected the sim running with no problems, but SPAD did not. I didn't try to launch LINDA or anything else. No real time weather yet, but the rain effects...
I didn't have a lot of time to play with it today, but here are a few screenshots:

I had all the display settings to the right and got steady 8-12 FPS in a thunderstorm. There is no simconnect module yet. I am running it on an Intel i7 2.8 Ghz/Windows 7 Pro 64-bit/16 GB RAM/Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB with 2 monitors attached and it's knstalled on a secondary SSD. It's still pretty raw as can be expected from an early release but I think it has promise. A cool feature is in-game multi-monitor cockpit support with built-in bezel correction.
One more cool tidbit that happened to me: I set it down stiffly and the sunvisors dropped down. The visors also have a very slight shake once you power up the throttles.

Bert,
that first shot of the a/c looks great. What a/c is it and who makes if for the Sim?

Also is this Steam Edition 64-bit beta version?

That is a deafult Piper Meridian that comes with the sim. It's Dovetail's Flightsim World. It's version 1.0 but I got it on early access because I had purchased Flighy School previously.

I can't get past "I set it down Stiffly and the sun visors dropped down" part. Haha. Isn't that a typical landing for Bert anyways?
