Re: Smithsonian Air and Space Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
Thanks Harold. I know. It seems like only yesterday I posted that I probably wouldn't be on as often as I was expecting my first newborn. My step son was 6 at the time. Now he's turning 13 next month. It's been a great ride thus far.

Re: New Build..exciting time!
Just an update. I'm able to run my i5 3570K at 4.4 Ghz and keep temperatures at 50C. I'm happy with that. I did try and push to 4.6 for the fun of it, but I can't get it to post. The reason is not temperature related, but mobo related. My mobo does not allow increasing the voltages. It does it autom...

Re: Plane Plotter
Same here. Late at night(around 1030pm est for me haha) I was tracking so many International flights out of DC and Philly...all going to Europe. And today was fun today. KPHL ops was landing north east earlier today, which means approach is right over my house. We would see them on planeplotter, and...

Re: Plane Plotter
You can pick up Messages planes are transmitting...such as ACARS, ADS-D...and I think HF too...using different equipment. Recently it's been discovered you can use TV usb Dongles(RTL2832U) to receive ADS message. You then take these messages and run them thru a decoder...which give you position, pla...

Plane Plotter
So part of my new computer build was also buying a $20 usb ADS dongle. I finally got around to messing with it today. It's kind of sweet. Just knowing I'm able to, in real time, pick up flights around me. Couple of pictures included. One picture is the first of when I first got it work. The other pi...

Re: New Build..exciting time!
So I have it up and running! This is difinitely a tight build. But it's running good thus far. Took World of Tanks for a spin since it's an easy install. CPU is idling temps around 28C and maxing around 44C. The GTX 660 Idled at 28C and Maxed at 70C(if I turn gpu fan to max manually it's down to 66C...

Re: New Build..exciting time!
Yeah well I missed it. Apparently there is a certain amount of funds set aside for those kind of deals. When I first checked the price all was good. But later that evening I was going to purchase it and I got a message on the check out page saying the promotion had been deactivated due to of fund ex...

Re: New Build..exciting time!
hmmm...so newegg just emailed me some codes as a token of appreciation for purchasing the gtx660. I wonder if everyone got them, but found it odd how it mentions specifically about the VC purchase. So one of the codes is for 20% off select Samsung SSD. This is in addition to their sale price now. So...
