SUBJECT: Retro Checkride Aircraft
Ronald, the aircraft your operating,if it is from our downloads page is loosely from Cal Classic Prop Airplanes.
http://www.calclassic.com/index.html
You are probably OK with what your using as the only FDE is for FS2002. They have updated the aircraft over the years, in fact go to their web site and download the aircraft from them for your use if you want.
I would not be too concerned with the update you mentioned if the plane operates OK. We won't let you haul any passengers, just you, and your not paid enough to warrant it.
Sincerly,
WLP

Re: Retro Endorsement help please
Ronald, there should be no panel issues with the aircraft. I used it with FS9 on VISTA/WIN 7 with no problem.
Cal Classics does have panels for download and one really has to follow the instructions for doing so. If you load it into FSX it then becomes a nightmare.
Here is a slide show of my DC6 flight some time ago.
This was FS9.

Hope you figure it out.

Re: Retro Endorsement help please
Brad, there is an FSX, I am assuming your using FSX, panel conversion for this aircraft which deals with the panel you are haveing issues with it is available, I believe on the Cal Classic page. The gauge you have is more than likely the FS9 one.
I am pretty sure this is your problem.
If you cannot find it e-mail me for some help.
Thanks.

Re: Retro Endorsement help please
I just installed the FSXDC6 from the web site Jeff suggested. One just has to download, open the zip file and then copy and paste the aircraft folder into the simobjects/airplane folder on your FSX computer.
It is a very rudimentary aircraft in its operation and doesn't look good, well at least to me, but it will perform for anyone wanting to fly the Retro checkride. It is a totally manual aircraft which is what we want you to learn. You will have to study on how to fly this truck.
Good Luck.
