Wayne, these "objects" are a manifestation of the FS program and a scenery mismatch or a hole in the scenery. Usually they start when the computer memory starts falling short of what FSX needs to use. I and many others get them when we use the Orbx scenery as it is somewhat of a memory hog. The item of scenery is usually one or a cluster of items, i.e. a building, tree, rocks and tend to just fill the void with the texture upwards forever. At times the scenery tiles will hide them as you traverse the area. This fixes itself if certain scenery areas are reinstalled or a restart of the computer then the FS program. Even if you do not have any extra scenery loaded or being used they will show up.
