Ted's New Red White and Blue Card

As of the first of this month, Ted Martin's perseverance has earned him a very special red white and blue card.

This card gives him special status. It can be used to get discounts at McDonalds and many other establishments. I've heard the presence/absence of one of these cards being the decisive difference in getting the last seat on a bus. It even identifies him for special treatment at hospitals.

Wow!! As you may have surmised by this time, today is Ted's birthday. So, what birthday present could possibly top having the power and prestige that comes with a special card like that?

Fortunately, Ted has some very special friends that wait on him to participate in AAV GFI's and allow him to join them in Saturday morning fly-abouts. And to boot, two of these friend have newly acquired red white and blue cards, too, and can share all their magic with him. Yes, it may sound corny but friends are better than that new red white and blue card.

Thanks to all my friends and their magic. Good friends like these are better than any card (even though it does have powers). Special thanks to my Saturday friends that put up with me coming late to fly with them.

And oh, by the way, it was a great birthday. Took the day off, had the house to myself, caught up on some recorded shows I hadn't seen yet, and had time to read a book. Very relaxing. However I did spend part of Saturday doing yard work!
