I can give you an unofficial answer to the multi leg question by saying I do the same thing you are doing using schedules from the 60’s 70’s etc., and I just put the same flight number for each leg.
An example for one FREQ I did a while back:
AA518 JFK-BOS
AA571 BOS-SYR
AA571 SYR-ROC
AA571 ROC-STL
AA571 STL-DAL
AA130 DAL-LIT
AA130 LIT-MEM
AA130 MEM-DCA
AA130 DCA-BOS
AA175 BOS-JFK
The only 2 oddball flights were too and from Boston. The only trouble I had with doing it was matching it up with our retro schedule which involved hunting them down but as it turned out they were all in their. All of these flights were flown with a 727, my favorite!!! :D As you can see I stayed with-in 10 flights to and from my hub. I don't know nor have I asked if you can go beyond that. Interesting question though

Christopher, this question is actually more aimed at your Hub Manager, not necessarily Mike. I'm not saying Mike can't answer since he is the CEO and all, but Tom is your Hub Manager. I can't answer for Tom, but if I had a similar issue arise at KLAX, I would say go for it. There isn't really any written rule stating how many "legs" a single flight may be made up of. Therefore as long as I could verify that this flight really did exist in the past the same legs as your going to fly, I would be ok with filing a single flight and having you submit multiple legs with the same flight number. That way your not taking up all ten slots on your FREQ just to recreate one flight with all of it's "legs". Again, I can't answer for Tom, that's just what I would do for KLAX.

That is another option Tim, filing all the legs with the same flight number in your FREQ. However like Chris is saying that takes up a bunch of slots on your FREQ just to accomplish one flight. Just to be clear though, you do need to clear this through your Hub Manager first and see how he wants to handle it. Don't just assume one way is better than another just to have a FREQ denied.
