Re: Flightsim destinations
I have two categories of favorite airports. First category is any payware airport that I have. Love to go to airports that are not the standard autogen buildings (i.e. FSDreamTeam) or those that add animated people (i.e. Orbx). DFW is my favorite FSDreamTeam airport.
My second favorite are airports that are new to me and I have not flown into.

Re: Flightsim destinations
I would have to say my two favorites of where I've flown into would be KLAS and KPHX. Don't know why, but even the base scenery of these two airports is quite nice to look at. Doesn't help that I actually really like desert like scenery in real life as well so these two areas fit that really well.

Re: Flightsim destinations
Like Ted, I have two categories:
1. Challenging approaches into deep Alpine valleys: Innsbruck, Sion, Bolzano
2. Tropical islands: Honolulu, St. Maarten, the Canaries

Re: Flightsim destinations
I flew into Sion from EDDF the other day and that was a very interesting approach. There were clouds during the approach and it was very apparent that observing the altitude restrictions was super important. There were mountains all around but I couldn't see them at times due to the clouds. Knowing I was at the correct altitude per the charts really relieved some of the "pucker power" experienced in the seat !
Again great suggestion Mike. Now it's on to Bolzano.

Re: Flightsim destinations
OEGS - GASSIM airport in Saudi arabia, my father used to work at a poultry farm (vet. doctor)near that airport , it's a nice small airport , it's where I flew on the MD-90 back when I was a child , I flew from this airport couple times, you can see the road in FSX where once we saw an MD-90(Saudi arabian airlines) taking off from runway 15 so we accelerated the car and found it took off at 140 KM/H. Very nice airport.
