Dan I am assuming your using the FSX super 80 pro. It doesn't have the ACARS on it like the super 80.it has an FMC. In order to get the autopilot to function you must make sure the NAV system is aligned by setting the overhead panels switches to align and don't forget to turn them back to NAV when they are aligned. Your IRSde positon is set first in the FMC on INIT when you start entering your data for the flight plan. If this is not done first thing, then your not going anywhere. You also should set your CG (center of Gravity) and the flaps and climb setting on the pedastal. These figures are all in the dispatch printed plan for your fuel weight. There are more settings than this but it really behooves one to look at the manual sometimes.

You also have to complete the FMS setup. Many have forgotten to setup the departure runway in the FMS and that's required on this baby or she won't track the FMS course.
