FSX "Microsoft Flight Simulator is not responding"

For Win 7 and FSX users, good active thread here -
http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=263150 - on this issue. Unfortunately, no solution yet, but there are people looking at the problem. You may want to take a look and add your experience/hardware/software to the discussion and/or try some of the "solutions" suggested, but I have not seen any Eureka claims.
Most report that this issue happens randomly and usually FSX will resume within 5-10 mins if left alone. I have seen this happen.
This is a different problem from the FSX menu CTD issue described here -
http://www.aavirtual.com/forum/viewtopi ... 32&t=16061 which does have a solution.

Sometimes Microsoft can be helpful ... well, I have heard rumors ... but I may have been asleep when I heard those rumors.
Actually, this problem is not really a crash but more of a hang - most of the time FSX will recover and resume in 5-10 mins. The discussion at my link above also describes what I have seen several times while using FS Commander with FSX. I'll be on a flight and step away for a few minutes (trusting the plane to Otto Pilot) and come back to find FS Commander disconnected but the plane still flying as if nothing had happened.
Again no real solution yet, but this is the most active and intelligent thread I've seen working toward a solution.

They neglected to mention:
- Buy a new computer
- Load a new OS
- And hope it works.....

and buy a new copy of FSX because you've installed it too many times on all the new computers, and o/s as you have followed their advice .... right, Wayne?

Yep. I just bought the 3rd copy of FSX to install it. I guess I just am having too much fun buying and installing it over and over again to suit them, so they are making me pay for the fun I am having.
I just installed my third computer on my system and have put Wideview on. I am able to stretch the cockpit to three monitors. I needed a new copy of FSX to install as over the years I have used up the alloted installs of the program.
Plus a new version of Win7 had to be had to go on the 3rd computer.

I have FSX with the Acceleration Pack and a few of the addon a/c that I have purchased are compatible with FS9 and FSX. So far most of my addon aircraft show up as completely white and I'm not at all impressed with the performance of the program in general. That being said, I'm sticking to FS9. /2cents.

Problem happened to me this morning. After about 8 mins, FSX resumed. So, if you get this message, wait. Don't shut FSX down.

I am begining to believe that the FSX is only stable with their own systems operating. No payware addons at all. I fly sometimes with the c-172 and it will fly for a long time and no problem. I switch to a payware addon and then things happen. I think Microsoft put a line in the code that says stop working if you are using non-Microsoft programs. It is the Apple/Microsof/other companies ongoing WAR!
Also I guess I need to use FSINN for FSX only. I tried sqwawkbox 4 with FSX and it gets a code error for the C++ files stopped working. I use FSINN and it is ok. Both work fine with my FS9.

I can solve the problem in my Windows 7 64 bts with the following:
1) Update the graphic card driver.
2) Add uiautomationcore .dll for vista in FSX carpet ( following the recommendation of Wayne)
3) Update FSCOMMANDER.
4) Update FSCUIP4.
Some add-ons are not availables for DX10 exp. Wilco777. the option is flight without DX10 in FSX.
