Us'n that have the retro endors-e-ment thrive of VOR, NDB, Radio beacon, dead reckonin' flyin by the seat of our wide butt britches.

Great turn-out for this event - even a newbie (Murray Wheten AAV1079) and an long absent old-timer (Rob Shepherd AAV314). Others participating were Jose Suarez (AAV2), Bert Rivera (AAV476), Ted Martin (AAV537), me (AAV580),Sergio Sanchez (AAV742), Wayne Pierce (AAV783), and Steve Sondheimer (AAV825).

Since there was no one around (ATC) to tell us we couldn't and since there were parallel offset runways available, we did what would come to mind naturally ... yes, parallel simultaneous take offs.

However, if you're expecting a countdown from Wayne, it's not "3 ... 2 ... 1 ... GO" - it's just "GO!" As you can see in the pic, Wayne has quite a lead on Sergio.

Steve and Bert did much better. Steve was actually flying a DC6 but I didn't have the model so he is showing as a C46 Commando.
