Finally Captain Sim has released the 707. Now to some of us whom are into the Retro aircraft this is a good plane to have.
To me this completes the whole transition from FS9 to FSX for my aircraft.
This airplane it NOT CHEAP. At about $80. U.S. , you guys who fly freeware only will certainly balk at this one.
It is just the first installment of several to come so as yet, no AA livery it comes with Pan Am right now. There are other liveries in the works.
So far I like the way it looks and it takes a lot of getting used to as it is a total manually operated aircraft, and for retro guys I like it.
The general format is the same as the other CS equipment. Those Russians seem to have their stuff together making these virtual planes.
So that is it.

I have the CS 707 for FS9. How is the FSX version? Just a port of the same, or have they added complexity or changed graphics?

This is a new rebuild. The graphics are stunning. The cockpit in this version is new. It does not operate simply like the FS9 version. Although it looks the same as that is what the 707 looks like. They have taken what their present FSX products operate like, the opening doors and animations on the outside, etc. There is no 2D cockpit, all virtual driven. I am still have a learning disability when it comes to the systems yet. The manual is really no good. Two included but all they have in them is pictures of where things are, basically. They put a lot of hype on the weather radar, which I can do without. I can look out the window, which the tinted windows above you in the cockpit can be made clear by clicking on them. There really is no passenger cabin interior, just what you see thru the windows. The little pop up windows for different systems are not there, just over head, navigators area, Which I can acess just as well thru the regular VC view with zoom. You have to look at them via the VC and go to that part of the cockpit to use them. Like the Autopilot is down on the pedestal and to use it you have to move your view down there. There are quite a few little extra gems in there.
I will take some screen shots later today and put up to show all.
I really like this plane. It makes my Flight sim complete now, at least until the next thing comes along, like the PMDG NGX.

What's with Captain Sim? They don't even have screen shots for the 707! Wayne, maybe you can sell yours pix to Captain Sim when you do them?

Well, they weren't there yesterday. Only too happy to point this out to Captain Sim, so they could remedy the situation.

Looks nice enough, but since I'm still on FS9 and I also have that version they won't be getting my $80 anytime soon. ;)
