KDAL-KPUB 8/27/10 GFI

Here are the winners who could find KDAL and didn't get lost: looking over Rob Shepherd's (AAV314) shiny MD80 to mine (AAV580), and Wayne Pierce (AAV783). We were eventually joined by Ted Martin (AAV537) and Eleuterio Ramos (AAV1057).

Short field landing practice - this runway was 3767 feet. Wayne, me, Ted, and Eleuterio all made it down and stopped with plenty of room to spare.

and the group. B2T: Ted, me, Wayne, Eleuterio, and Rob. This was Eleuterio's first GFI and he did a great job.
We had no ATC for departure from KDAL though DFW Tower was online. FTW Center came on before we departed their airspace, but there was no ATC for our landing ... as you might have surmised with the short field landing practice.
and a great time was had by all.

Well, I tried to join tonight, but technicall issues finally ticked me off too much to have enjoyed the flight. Sorry guys. Maybe next time.

Just the 3, no, now the 2 of us made it. Saw you in the air Bert. Rick Stevens and Wayne Pierce started out Rick lost it at the start and caught up after a little 4x flying. The ATC at KDFW was intense and even though we started at KDAL the "Cross the Gulf" flyers were leaving caused us some "hold a long time and wait" instead of "line up and wait".
Had a good flight and again did some short field landings. Didn't do good this timed as went much longer. I guess the brakes overheated and we kept going.
