KMER-KGJT GFI 9/17/10

Not a big turnout but it was big-dog time, nonetheless. For starters, we had Ted Martin (AAV537), me (AAV580), Sergio Sanchez (AAV742), and Wayne Pierce (AAV783). Unfortunately both Sergio and Wayne had equipment issues and did not join us for the departure.
Below is a very rare photo of an MD-11 being coaxed into regurgitating a little 737 it had swallowed. Bad plane!

As you can see, Wayne changed skins for this picture. Sergio did not make it.
Was a fun flight with ATC at takeoff and a nice RNAV approach at destination.

That is funny Harold!
I found out what was happening on my end and this is food for thought for others. I had changed to Squawkbox for better frame rates, but... for some reason I was getting some error messages about .dll's for something or other and when I click to either abort/cancel/ignore it would CTD FSX.
I had started several aircraft and had no fuel. so I called the fuel truck and as soon as I would pay for the fuel and went into the cockpit the tanks were empty! The sucker had taken it all back. I found that after the fact, on my Squawkbox flight plan I needed to put in a time for flight using the fuel I had on board. I didn't know this and after my last VFR flight of just 30 minutes of fuel logged, Squawkbox would only let me fly that time from a previous flight plan. What's the deal with that?
Anyway I had put FSINN back on. Frame rates now are bad again. Maybe I will put Squawkbox back on? Or not. Decisions, Decisions.

Wayne...
Unfortunately, that error sometimes pops up... Its a known issue with SB4. But, if you hit "Ignore" the window always goes away for me without affecting anything. Are you sure you hit the "ignore" button? Because any other choice WILL cause you to CTD. Only "Ignore" will let you continue on.
Unfortunately, the guy who took over SB4 abandoned it for other "paying" endeavors...
...This is the one bug he left behind. There's some threads in their forum that allude to deleteing the Squawkbox folder under simobjects -> airplanes within FSX and that stops this error. But I haven't tried it yet; I've just gotten used to hittin the "Ignore" button if it ever pops up.
This could be problematic on long flights where you want to leave the flight deck for your 30 minute break though; as the error causes FSX to pause until you hit the "Ignore" button.
It's interesting to hear that you got normal framerates back while using SB4.
