Seasoned and veteran pilots took on the challenge of a recommended "dangerous" approach. Flying this evening were John Moore (AAV280), Rob Shepherd (AAV314), Ted Martin (AAV537), me (AAV580), and Wayne Pierce (AAV783).

Since there was no ATC to ask permission of, we assumed we could make use of the parallel runways. Here I'm sitting admiring the mountain scenery.

Ted had some engine problems which allowed John to pull ahead.

Last rays of the setting sun illuminating the kind of terrain we're flying into.

A couple of us flew real-time and made the approach in the dark. Sometimes the darkness is a blessing so you don't see what you're barely missing.

Here John's past the really bad stuff and looking pretty good for a landing.

And here we're all parked on the ramp - N2F: John, Ted, Rob, me, and Wayne.

A very enjoyable flight with a mildly challenging approach in a valley. Probably more fun in daylight when you can see it all.
