I along with others use the FSC. I don't have the newest version 9 yet as this post,

Are you using the FSC on the same computer as you fly on? Your FSUIPC should be the latest version that is available, and the free one is OK. I find it best that I start FSX and have it on line at the gate before I start the FSC program. Also if you aren't, make sure that your programs start in the Adminsitrator mode.
If your using the FSC on another computer then that is something else you need to address.
I am using it on a second computer and need the FSUIPC Wide version, payware.
The FSC website says they have fixed any problems with the latest newest releases, also a patch if offered for the early bought versions.
