Cold Heathrow Landing

Saturday morning I heard a radio report that most flights from Heathrow were cancelled due to snow. I looked up some news reports and sure enough it was BAD. Lucky for me, the next flight in my bid was LSGG to EGLL. Woo Hoo! Making the flight even more fun (read challenging) was that I was incorrectly tuning the ILS on my new CaptainSim 757 and was having trouble finding the airport as I wandered through the snowy, cloudy, London skies.

In the end, I correctly tuned the ILS, found the field, popped out of the soup at 1,500, and all was well at the beautiful snowy airport. Sorry, no screen shots, (too busy flying), just wonderful memories.

Sounds like a great adventure even though it was "white knuckle" time at some point. :)

HA! If there were no pictures then it didn't happen! :P LOL

I had a flight into ATL Saturday. Visibility was 2 miles, overcast @ 700. I'll post screenies later tonight. ;)

Weather is one of the major things that keeps this thing exiting for me... When it gets to be tornado season here in Texas, I think I'll put in for a turboprop bid :)
Try this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2Pbq6cq ... r_embedded. Should be much more fun in a tornado than a turbo prop.
