There is a life away from the AAV, sort of. We decided to repeat our last years Summer Sizzle flight of 2 B-17s to KDFW.

Starting at the Abilene AFB we flew a north east track then to the east. Requesting flight following for a flight of 2 KDFW let us traverse their air corridors uncontested and then approve the visual to RWY 13R. I refused a request by my wing man to fly the runway approach for a fly by as I believed there to be too much traffic in the area for a safe flight.

giving the DFW crew something besides the normal Jet liner stuff. :D

Gentlemen, another Sizzle in the books, I want to thanks all the AAV pilot that participated and those Pilot that decided to drop by and give us a visit. Thank you Ted Martin, Rick Stevens for dropping by.

Hey, great job flying formation into the DFW airspace. Bet that was a lot of fun.

It was fun seeing the other side of flight simming and seeing Jose and the guys "do their thing" at the screen. Was also very interesting what they say about us pilots that we normally don't get to here. :o :)
