I use, enjoy, and recommend FS Commander.
http://www.fscommander.com/

It's payware, but well worth it for easy realistic flight planning.
Exports flight plans to FS9, FSX, PMDG, Level-D, and PIC

I too just recently started using FSCommander and I'm very happy with it. Before that I used FSNavigator which was a wonderful tool, however support for it was discontinued several years back so it does not support FSX. FSBuild is another payware planning tool that is used by a number of our pilots.

There is a freeware tool you can get called Virtual Dispatch. It's a decent tool for flight planning that allows you to enter your waypoints, supports SID's/STAR's, and exports to FS9, FSX, and the major a/c (PMDG, Level D, Wilco, etc.). It does not provide all the bells and whistles the payware apps do but it is a lots better than trying to use the FS flight planning (if you want to call it that! :x ) module.

FSCommander is what almost all of us GFI participants use for flight, fly along navigation.

It is my inflight navigator it comes on 2nd after FSX starts up.

It is greater even when you combine the FSUIPC WIDEFS with it and use it on another computer, like a laptop if you need to. I use in on a 2nd PC.

I was about to write that the plane that i actually got it for it isn't working with that but then i tried something before writing that and it worked. If you have Fscommander and win7 or vista make sure that when running every time you right click on it then run it as administrator otherwise it won't with FS9.I hope if anyone in this VA was having the issue of it not working with FS9 now he knows why.I would love to join you guys for GFI's though but i only want to be online when someone else is online.

I had actually purchased FSCommander way back when and I hadn't remembered until I saw this post. I too, like Wayne, run it on my networked laptop. I recently had to reinstall the OS on it and FSC just fell through the reinstallation crack. :D Reinstalling it now
