Ron this sounds exactly like the item that was brought up a couple of years ago, myself included with this problem. Trying to fly the same route over and over again it kept CTD.
It appears that there are some areas of FSX which do not like what we add on to the computer, i.e. sceneries, pilot helping software and such. I could not fly our from KORD over lake Michigan, it kept quitting on the scenery area change on the east shore. My problem was there was not enough room on my hardrive for the virutal memory to use. This caused me to upgrade hardrives, now two of them. The basic cause was memory. Even though I had 12 GIGS it didn't matter to FSX which only uses a couple. It was the other programs which ate it away. The following picture show the available and then the free memory. When the free memory falls down to around 2000 then I get all kinds of problems. I hope you have tried another flight to see if the problem persists.
I had to cut out many of the memory users to get, now almost problem free flights. Of course this computer is only for flight related items.
Good luck,

This memory loss reading is just from the internet use it started with free at 10500. Memory does not come back when the program is done.
