Off Topic - Real World Railroading

I fulfilled a 20 year dream this weekend and hiked the 12 mile trip to see the Goat Canyon trestle of the old San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railroad. It was built in the 1920's or 1930's and I think it may be the largest wooden trestle in the United States.

It was a very difficult hike in with lots of boulder scrambling. It took 4 hours to go 3.3 miles.

Looks like you had a blast! (I know I would've...)

Thanks!

The San Diego Model Railroad Museum has modeled it in HO scale. It's stunning!

Mike, those are amazing pictures. I am so impressed with that trestle and can't believe it's still standing. Must require lots of maintenance.
