POLL: Is it time to widen our web page?

Our web page is currently 1024 pixels wide, the standard for monitors and video cards some 5-10 years ago. Is it time to widen our screen?

Pros: It would show our screen shots without horizontal scroll bars, and show linked images at higher resolution.
Cons: If you don't have a high enough resolution monitor, you would have a horizontal sroll bar for all pages, especially if viewing on a tablet or smartphone

While 1280x1024 might hold true for most monitors that we as a community have in use, I will tell you to check your own machines to make sure. I thought my monitors were 1280x1024 but they are actually FHD at 1920x1080. My laptop monitor is 1440x900 which makes it WXGA+. Leave it to me to be the oddball. My Windows Phone has a WVGA resolution 800x480.

Just as a reference,
High-definition television (HDTV) resolutions are:
720p (1280 × 720 progressive scan)
1080i (1920 × 1080 split into two interlaced fields of 540 lines)
1080p (1920 × 1080 progressive scan)

Most all monitors are a minimum of 1440 x 900 (and it is an older computer)and my laptop is 1366 x 768 so I'm thinking we can go to 1280 without causing much of a problem for the majority of pilots. 1440 would be ideal for me.
