I can't help you with a recommendation for a laptop. It's been a long time since I looked into laptops. My laptop is furnished by my company and anyway I use a desktop PC at home for FSX. You will get better frame rates using a graphics card in a desktop compared to the onboard graphics of a laptop.
As for the operating system, Windows 7 is better. FSX was not designed for Windows 8 and I've heard of nothing but problems from people attempting to use FSX and Windows 8. In addition, I would say that some if not most of the payware a/c are not compatible with Windows 8 yet.

Searching the almighty G :shock:gle, many areas exactly with the response you need.

Microsoft compatability areas say it is compatable.
Most of the problems I have read about are the use of a video card and a couple of updates for win8 which does not meet the specs of the gaming world and windows 8 criteria. Don't ask me as I would not use a laptop to fly FSX on. I did for MSFS2002,some time ago. remember that?
Good luck
