Almost-Old Man Passed Over

I missed happy birthday wishes to an almost-old man - Robert Shepherd. It was such a shock to see how close he's getting to crossing that old-age threshold!!!

Robert, I hope you had a great birthday that you can look back on wistfully when you really get as ancient as Ted. They say it's all downhill from there and that's nice and true ... but there's something they don't tell you. Just as you get going you have to pull up every few steps to WD-40 creaking components of the drive train! Then there's the occasional parts replacement, too.

I hope this sad forecast doesn't spoil the joyous atmosphere ... and you should be able to safely ignore this ... for another year or two.

Happy belated birthday Mr. Robert Shepherd. Now I'm just graciously awaiting Ted's rebuttal since he was called out as being "Ancient" in this thread. This ought to be good.

First, let me say happy birthday to Robert and I hope it was a great one.

As for Harold, just because I finally decided to get my Retro checkride does not flag me as ancient. And besides, what does that say about Harold since he is "older" than I (technically)....

I just thought it would be less daunting to the birthday boy to mention the youngest of the ancients.
