OK, who's seen the new preview video that came out Sunday?

Lots of discussion at a new AVSIM forum just for this new product.

This will be fun to watch over the next 2-3 years to see how it comes out.

I saw the infomercial about it also on various forums. Another way to get one to buy a new computer system. Mine, I am sure, will not handle what they showed. Lots of discussion on line about it.

Well, now I'm blown away. Never expected MS to jump back into the flight simulation market. I guess Lockheed Martin and AeroFly success has pushed them to reconsider. I need to start saving my pennies, I'm sure this will mean a new very high-end computer and graphics card.

Im sure it will Theodore. I have a GTX 1050Ti. Guess its about time to start saving for 1080Ti. The Sim is beautiful. Can't wait for its release. But most likely by that time i would be already training to become a pilot then I get the best graphics I will ever see A.K.A Real Life. XD
More power to you Darion. I hope you get that RW certification. The training that you get here with AAV should give you a good start toward that goal.

Good luck to you on your path to becoming a real pilot. There are two things stopping me of that dream. One is money. I can't really afford right now to take on that kind of debt to get all the licenses required to become a pilot. Two, I have sleep apnea on my medical records and as of right now it is untreated. I know the FAA is pretty strict on that. I guess it's virtual for me.

Froogle and other flight sim writers just had several days with the developers and hands-on time with the new MS 2020 pre-alpha sim. Froogle did a pretty brutal pan of Microsoft re-entering the flight sim market back when MS 2020 was first announced and the first videos came out. Now, after time with the devs and unrestricted hands-on with the sim, Froogle's most frequent comment was, "I was totally blown-away!" I lost count of the number of times he said this.

FS2020+ Watching the video and also hearing " my Jaw dropped" and " I was blown away" quite a few times... I did pick up on what I thought it was going to be. 3 ways to fly. 1- On line and stream their super graphics and world of wonder. 2- an on line Cache of scenery, with reduced graphics. 3 - an off line and much more reduced graphics and basic scenery cache, probably like photo real areas with little to none texture as one can buy now.

Harold, thanks for posting this. It's been awhile since I've viewed one of Froogle's reviews (not sure why, just drifted away from him).
Just like Froogle and Wayne, I am very impressed with the alpha version Microsoft provided. The level of scenery detail is truly amazing and all the other new features/technology Froogle discussed is just mind boggling. However, I'm very skeptical that it will take a very expensive, high-end computer to run half of what they are planning. Of course, in 2yrs. there's no telling where technology will be so I'll just wait an see. Until then I'll keep slowing adding to my P3Dv4 sim.
By the way I re-purchased the Aerosoft Airbus A320/321 for P3Dv4 (since I already had it for FSX) and got to fly it one time! After installation I flew a quick circuit around the airport just as a test and things went ok. The next time I loaded the A320, and every since, it will crash P3D after about 30-60 sec. Another guy on the Aerosoft forum had the same problem. I've worked with Aerosoft support for the past 2 or 3 months trying to resolve the problem. After trying numerous suggestions they provided to no avail, they say they see a Kernelbase.dll error and the only way to resolve it is to reload Windows
. The only issue I have is when I select the A320 a/c so I'm not going to reload my entire computer just to get that one a/c to work.
