Had an interesting work trip a couple weeks ago from BWI to SAN.
There was an an Antonov AN-124 parked in clear view from my gate at BWI.
Departing Baltimore, the line of thunderstorms went from Birmingham, AL to New York City. We had to fly south past Atlanta before hooking west to get to San Diego.
Arriving in San Diego, the vice president was in town, so there was a C-32 and a C-17 parked next to the runway. My picture wasn't great, but here it is.

So you had the joys of the Vice President in town as well huh? He was here in Des Moines, IA earlier this week causing all kinds of issues for us since I work for a hotel that happens to be located a mile away from the airport. That wasn't fun.

I didn't have any travel delays due to the VP on this trip, but I did get held up by the president's motorcade in El Centro, CA back in April. I was returning from Arizona to San Diego on the I-8 freeway. Two highway patrolmen pulled out in front of me and did a traffic stop. I was sitting there wondering why when I saw this HUGE motorcade going over the freeway on a bridge about 1/4 mile ahead of us. Almost 100 police cars and motorcycles, black SUV's,limos, ambulance, vehicles with lots of antennas, it was so big I guessed it had to be the president. I checked CNN real quick while stopped, and sure enough, the president was in El Centro to do a press conference at the border, and I was seeing the motorcade returning him to Naval Air Facility El Centro where Air Force One was waiting. I was hoping to see AF-1 take off, but no luck. Still, it was a neat experience.
