I was watching this incredible home cockpit video on YouTube, must have cost $30,000 - $50,000 to build, and this blurb came up, "ATC services by Pilot Edge".

Pilot Edge? What's that? Never heard of it. The ATC audio sounded like VATSIM to me.

OMG! pilotedge.net is, "Professional air traffic control for flight simulators", a paid subscription service at $20/month for Los Angeles center, or $40/month for the entire west coast.

I had NO IDEA this existed.

No, I have never heard about it, I have used another ATC program "Pilot2ATC" for X-plane.

Is Pilot2ATC audio a real person or artificial speech?

Yes, I've heard of Pilot Edge and looked into it when it first came online. Coverage areas were pretty limited at that time and I didn't see the need to pay for ATC monthly (guess I'm cheap ).

I have heard of it and I've also watched a couple live streamers on youtube that use it, however it's west coast only. If your new to the online community I don't recommend Pilot Edge because they take the realism to a whole new level so you better know your p's and q's before jumping on that. On the plus side though you are guaranteed ATC coverage between certain hours.
