Excellent! Should be fun, short hop from KCLT to KDCA. I am on board.

Do we need to commit somehow, or just show up?

A question about communications. If we fly connected to VATSIM, but use DISCORD for communication, what happens if ATC is available for some or all of the flight? Can we talk on both simultaneously?

Thanks Rey for setting this up.

David

David, just show up. Just take care of the new requirement to prefile your flight plan with VATSIM.

Regarding comms, I would suggest setting up separate PTT (push-to-talk) buttons in your VATSIM and company talk interface apps. That would normally be vPilot (VATSIM) and DISCORD (company comms). Voice activated might work for one (but not both for obvious reasons), but I do not use voice activated because I want to be intentional in when/whom I am communicating with.

Rey, thanks for stepping up!!! Looking forward to this.

GREAT to have GFI's again and the River Visual is a good approach to fly. Unfortunately I may be out of town on that day. If I'm here I will definitely fly with you guys.

I am going to fly the Douglas DC-3 on the GFI to KDCA. It will take me twice as long as the jets. Can I start earlier to make up the difference?

No way to leave early, not allowed.
The take off time is specified.
Maybe someone else will fly a prop also and keep you company.
There was one good GFI where we all used the B377, FSX then, and it took forever. Remember that one Harold.

So we should all fly a smiluar class of aircraft? Now that I have remastered take off and landing in the DC3? I dint know how many sets of props I left on the runway. Very touchy brakes:;)

maybe an md80 instead.

Cheers

IGNORE -->> How to setup the FMS and fly the approach in the PMDG 737. <<-- IGNORE. He's not flying the current River Visual Approach chart. Leaving link as I found the technique interesting and useful for the future.

I suspect we may end up doing some holds. Here is how to do holds in the PMDG 737.

My apologies, but i have been committed to another event that starts at 7 CST so won't be able to fly the GFI with you guys. Very disappointed. I will dial in and listen as long as possible.
