Back in 2010 when i started virual airline flying there was 2g network , it used to take 4 hours to download 50MB freeware airplane and that was used to be exciting back then , FS2004 was the best as FSX had many bugs especially on long flights .
Fast forward to MSFS2020 , its amazing it was everyting a VA pilot could dream of , growing number of very high quality add-ons , very best scenery , airports , wheter etc , its amazing how far we have come in flight simulation , Now the scenery actually looks different when flying long haul VFR flights , we have huge numbers of modders now who constantly modify default planes to make them as real as possible as well as making scednery of almost every airport in msfs so i have compiled a list of best addons for best experience :

Airplanes :
FBW A320 Neo ( Freeware ) its actually better than many payware addons in FSX
Fenix A320 , very best A320 simulation you can buy
inibuilds A300
inibuilds A310
PMDG 737 serires
PMDG 777 , The very best addon in MSFS

LFVR planes : these are not study level airplance but some of them like A330 and A340 i like to fly them they are just fun to fly , not the very best but fun to fly planes if you like flying by hand

in develpment :
A350 inibuilds
A380 FBW (Freeware) again a very good addon and hence the mention
A330 aerosoft ( it has been such a long time for its development that this might get released when humans will have landed on mars , LOL )
B747 PMDG
737 MAX PMDG
B757 blue bird simulation

Scenery :
for Freeware good quality scenery visit flightsim.to before every flight and search for departure and destination airpot and there is a very high chance that scenry is already in that website , download and extract to community folder and thats it

in conclusion now there are many many airplanes and sceneries for airports as well as excellent default scenery for VFR flying in MSFS that is avaialabe that make simulation a pleasure , and something pilots could only dream of in FS 2004 days
