Adjust the eye view in 2D panels in FSX.

Post by Barry Theodore »

I came across this information while I was searching for ways to lift the eye view when trying to land our B737.
While you can use CTRL+Q and CTRL+SHIFT+Q it appears these go back to original settings when you change views or lower the flaps which is not really a fix for the problem.

"In FSX for a permanent change in 2d panel forward view direction change insert the following command in panel.cfg:

[views]
view_forward_dir=5.0,0.0,0.0

Digits are respective pitch, bank and heading of the view direction.

As usual, make a backup of original panel.cfg before applying any change."

I have added it to the bottom of the panel.cfg file in a number of aircraft with great success, but it is a good idea to look through the file first as it may already have the command in it. If that is the case then change the perspective pitch to suit your needs.
