We fly the MD 11 here as a Retro aircraft. Captain and above with the Retro fleet endorsement. Now, if a GFI does not specify an aircraft type only, then anyone can fly it on a GFI only. There is usually one heavy metal flight a month on a GFI in which it is OK to use.
The AAl MD11 no longer in use.
