Smithsonian Air and Space Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

Post by Rey Ramon »

So I just got back from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Every one goes to visit the one in DC. This our by Dulles is SPECTACULAR!!! I love how it sits at the end of the runs for Dulles...So I got to see plenty of planes landing as well...and up close and personal. Among them was an A380, 744...actually I don't think there was a common plane in use today that I did not see up close and personal landing runway 1R. At any rate, I'm going to share pictures I took my phone. Just trying to think of best way to do so...maybe I'll share a link thru my Google +.

Nice pics, Rey. Definitely add that to my "must visit" list next time I have the misfortune to end up in DC.

Thanks Harold. I know. It seems like only yesterday I posted that I probably wouldn't be on as often as I was expecting my first newborn. My step son was 6 at the time. Now he's turning 13 next month. It's been a great ride thus far.

Great place to visit, great pictures, and most importantly...great looking family. And yes it seems like just yesterday you were saying you couldn't fly because you were on bottle duty!

So then you know how awesome it is!!! Great place to plane watch and get some history in too!

DAGNABIT!!!! I just remembered! I wanted to go to the observation deck! Totally just remembered as I posted a "great place to plane watch". Traffic was landing on the 1s....so right on either side of the museum! I definitely will be making it back there. Maybe I'll let you know next time I'm there. It's only a couple hours from my house in Delaware. Did you ever get a chance to make it to any airshows at Andrews AFB before...Sequester 2013!!!!?? I've always wanted to catch a show there. Usually I hit Mcguire AFB and Thunder over the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Probably won't make any shows this year due to the Sequestration.
