Glad to have you aboard Harvey. I've been to Founders Park several times. If you follow the access road around to the other side of the airport there used to be a small gravel area next to 35R were you could pull right up to the fence and watch them land. Don't think that's available anymore, but as you point out it's great to be able to hear ATC at Founders' Park.
We have GFI's (Group Fly In's) every Friday and Monday night at 7:00 CST. Check out the calendar on our website for details. Sometimes the flights don't get posted till Friday but we fly every week.
