MSFS SIMACARS or FSACARS support?

Post by Rey Ramon »

Do they offer support for MSFS 2020? I installed FSacars and it could never recognize if my plane was at the departure airport. Saw the post about beta testing SIMACARS, but I think I didn't see MSFS as working with it. Any insight?

So of course I harnessed the power of Google to look things up. FSACARs says it supports MSFS2020 with FSUICP7 (which was released December 21st). FSUICP7 also requires to have a WideClient registration, because it has WideServer7 built into FSUIPC7.

Also came across this ACARS program. I know nothing about it, but I didn't really know others were out there. https://www.uesva.com/home

I think that's only for the WideFS function. If you don't have that registration, the basic FSUIPC capabilities required for ACARS should still work.

That's correct. FSUIPC7 is required. WideFS is not required - at least that's the case for FSUIPC v 7.2.10 from 9/14/21 which I've been running. Checked and updated to the latest version 7.2.14 and was able to register FSUIPC only without WideFS.

So it works with FSUIPC7 and the FSACARS downloaded from our webpage? Or are you using a newer FSACARS?

Ok i think it's working now with the new FSUIPC7 installed. At first it didn't. Until I figured out I had to start MSFS with the new FSUIPC7 desktop icon. Thanks for the help!

For those who do not know what WideFS is.

Wide FS is; "a program that allows external add-ons to be moved to a second computer on a network. This lightens the processing and resources load on the FS machine. For users that have multiple FS programs running it is the way to go."

It is also an extra charge aside from FSUIPC for licensing rights to operate it.

So I never got this fully working and wanted to see if any had any experiences similar to mine. The issue I had, that may or may not be attributed to FSACARS, is that whenever I was landing...as soon as my wheels hit the ground the Sim would freeze and crash. Again, not sure if it was FSACARS related or not. After having this issue 3 times I Uninstaller it. But the problem persisted. Uninstalled the only 2 add on aircraft I have on MSFS2020, but the problem persisted. So I finally did a complete reinstalled of the Sim. I'm a little nervous to try again. Anyone ever have this experience?

Rey, not a problem I have encountered.

In addition to re-installation of MSFS 2020, you might also want to also be sure you have the most recent version of FSUIPC for MSFS 2020 installed. Just a suggestion.

Good luck.
