American Airlines Virtual is proud to showcase KDFW & DFW"T"

The AAV Headquarters at DFW are a major hub and the place that we are proud to call home. Strategically located, DFW provides easy access to destinations throughout the Americas. DFW retains a plentiful mix of American Eagle (EGF) flights, as well as mid size, and heavy metal options.

DFW is lead by Hub Manager, Commander Theodore Martin, who is pleased with the experience that his pilots possess, "There are a number of experienced RW & virtual pilots here at DFW that can answer most questions and are willing to bend over backwards to help anyone they can" said Commander Martin. "One of the reasons I chose AAV initially is because it is a learning environment and required checkrides to progress to the next level. I didn't want a VA where you progress simply based on the number of hours you have, I wanted to learn aviation."

DFWT has been implemented for all new members seeking employment at AAV. DFWT is strictly dedicated to the development and training of our new recruits. It serves to be a stepping stone out of the Eagle's nest, and getting our rookie pilots ready to spread their wings before choosing a hub that they can progress their AAV flying career's further. DFWT is becoming a very busy place, and rookie pilots are learning the basics of flying their aircraft. DFWT is where mistakes are made, but are learned from. A flight recording program, which records all phases of the applicant's flight, is used and presented as graphs and a flight path where a written analysis is then presented to each applicant.

The Hub manager at DFWT is Commander Wayne Pierce, who is an experienced virtual pilot, retro grade pilot extraordinaire, and AAV check pilot. "I know our pilots outdistance other VA's as we require all to be IFR trained using real world processes for flight operations. We don't just fly from one place to another in the virtual sky," says Commander Pierce as he described the uniqueness of AAV, "we operate like real pilots, using charts for STAR's and SID's, flight planning, and aircraft functions."

At DFWT a new pilot will learn and be challenged on how to:

Submit flight requests (FREQ's), and flight reports (FREP's).
Submit checkrides.
FSACARS
TSP3, Teamspeak

Mostly, trainees learn an overall generality how to operate within, and have a safe, fun successful career at American Airlines Virtual.

American Airlines Virtual is a virtual airline with six major hubs, headquartered in Dallas Fort Worth. At press time, AAV has 197 active pilots and staff and to date AAV pilots have flown 52,385 flights for a total of 177,850 flight hours.
