Captainsim 707 first flight

Post by Michael Blakely »

Flew my new Captainsim 707 from KIAD to KSEA. The INS in INOP, so it's VOR to VOR all the way across the country. Pretty fun, and keeps you on your toes. You can see the shadow of even some of today's 747 systems in this old plane.

Obligatory KSEA Mt. Rainier shot:

Good on you Mike. It is a nice looking aircraft.
At one of our latest GFI's several of us used our 707's for the flight. Manual flight all the way for navigation.

I couldn't get the CIVA to work, and all my docs say it's not implemented. I'm using the FSX version with VC only (no 2D panels). Is that what you have, or are you on a different version?

That is a nice airplane. I keep meaning to post my night landing pics into Innsbruck from a couple of weeks ago. Maybe this weekend.... :D

Don't you mean your 'fiery crash of doom' from Innsbruck a few weeks ago?

I believe the agreement was landing at night with no navigation aids, three engines and one arm tied behind your back.

Don't tell me you wimped out.
Wow. Tough crowd!

Of course! A 2D panel over the VC. Why didn't I think of that?
