VATSIM poll
AAVirtual is seeking information on how our pilots perceive and participate in online flying with VATSIM. We would appreciate your vote in the poll below. We would also appreciate any responses you could add to the thread about why you are or are not interested in flying online with VATSIM, and why you are or are not interested in flying online with other AAVirtual pilots in a group fly-in or VATSIM event.

Re: VATSIM poll
I voted yes as I fly online all the time so ATC doesn't bother me. The only thing that would stand in my way is when the flight is as I work nights for a Hotel so my days off vary from week to week and I barely ever have a weekend off. If I'm available count me in.

Re: VATSIM poll
I fly the majority of my flights online. It adds to the realism as well as helps me be comfortable and remain current with my ATC communication. It's also more interesting flying with others online. Sometimes I fly the FNO's (Friday Night Ops) on VATSIM, however it can be a little frustrating at times when the controller can't handle the traffic well. Since we don't have the GFI's anymore I find myself sometimes flying the weekend fly-in specials that get posted by the different ARTCC's.
I participated in most all of the AAV GFI's. We had a GREAT group of AAV pilots that regularly flew the GFI's and we had a great time. We had such a great time flying together online that we actually got together face-to-face a couple of times over beers. Wayne Pierce and I were the last participating hold-outs of the GFI's until they faded away since no one else joined and we lost the calendar function with our modern webpage.
