And the crowd. This was a very enjoyable and challenging flight to a place few if any of us had flown into before (other than those wimps that practiced). Thanks, Arturo!

Arturo mentioned they actually flew Embraer 190's into the airport, so I thought I would give it a try. I was about 20,000 lbs short of max weight for the take off.

Touchdown! Things just happened a little bit faster and this jet did have a little more power than the ATR.

Re: The Ecuadorian connection - "Dangerous airports"
Thanks Harold
I enjoyed the most of this GFI fly with a patrol of brave and great pilots.
Wayne, Ted, Sergio, Bert and Harold you approved one of the skill exam to get a
Virtual Captain license in Ecuador.
Sorry I overfly TED but remember this landing is only one shot.
Great shots Harold all are a good example of this challenge fly. And precise landing with the E 190
Thanks for flying in Ecuador.

Re: The Ecuadorian connection - "Dangerous airports"
I loaded the scenery provided on their web site and it did have a few glitches but I had an unexpected problem landing this time. Previously on my one practice with this new scenery I noticed on approach the first half of the runway pavement disappeared while on final but I was able to land anyway. Also I noticed some black patches as I taxied which really gives it realism as if they repaired the taxi way. But during the flight on Friday I was on the runway a little left of center (according to my scenery) and half way through my roll out I get a building crash ....what building....I'm on the runway! Turns out I didn't read the fine print. The scenery was for FS9 and not FSX. And just to confirm I switched to watch Bert as he made his landing and he had the same building crash, at the same spot as I watched using my scenery.
It was a great flight though and here are some pics of the scenery I eventually had to disable.
Oh, by the way, Bert and I hung around and made that landing using the Embraer 190 (Bert) and I flew the CJ700 (don't have the 190).

More pics of the scenery.
There was a ramp guy that actually guided you into the gate. Here's another view of the ramp guy... Another view of the airport itself. The a/c in the pic is someone who was there when the gang arrived. In my scenery the gang was parked in the grass at the building off the right edge of the pic.
