Limo 1
Monday night I saw a C-5 climbing slowly over San Diego. I didn't think much about it until I found out later in the evening that the president had been in San Diego on Monday morning. Then I thought, "hey, maybe Limo-1 was on-board that C-5."

Re: Limo 1
It was after sunset and I was going by sound and size, so I could have got it wrong.

Re: Limo 1
I believe you were correct Mike. It was/is at the San Diego MCAS Miramar Air Show this weekend 10/1-2/2011.
It is HUGE !
This is the second time I have been in one, and the first time to deplane whilst on the ground.
When I was in the 82nd ABN I was part of a test unit to parachute from the c5A. It didn't fair well in the tests and they didn't use it for jumping.

Our lab is about 800 meters away from "the busiest single-runway airport in the world" and I've gotten pretty good at telling the 5's from the 17's apart just by the sound. The real show-stoppers are the British Tornadoes when they take off. They rattle EVERYTHING!!!! It's a cool light show at night too.
